Tips for your airport experience…
– Passengers 18 and over must show valid ID for domestic flights (Drivers License, Passport) Passports needed for International flights. Children under 18 do not need ID for US travel, but do need a passport for international travel.
– Check the validity on your passport. Many countries request that they be valid for 6 months after travel.
– For US flights, check-in at least 1 1/2 hours prior to departure to allow for security. (some airports-2 hours) Boarding starts 30 minutes before departure time. For International flights, check-in at least 2 hours prior.
– Checked + Carry On baggage can not have hazardous materials, sharp objects, weapons, tools, or non-toiletry aerosol cans. (spray starch and anti static aerosol are not allowed) Carry-On’s can not have liquids over 3.4oz. For carry-on liquids less than 3.4 oz, put all containers in one qt. sized clear plastic zip top bag per person.
– Wear easy-off shoes as you’ll need to remove them at security. You’ll also need to remove belts with metal buckles and pockets.
– Weigh your bags before leaving home. Airlines charge more for baggage over 50lbs. Most bags are charged per person each direction. (exception of 1 free bag on Southwest and Jet Blue)
– Check the Arrival/Departure boards often for updated times and gates.
